Just Playing Around

Who needs to leave home for Halloween Fancy Dress when the party can happen inside your own home? Planning to let the dolls do the partying while I curl up with a cozy mystery and bowl full of candy.

My mask is ready.
Do you have one yet?

Things a Challenge Taught Me Today

Challenges can be good for a person. Self-imposed challenges can push us out of our comfort zones and teach us new things about ourselves.

Today I learned four things from a challenge:

  • Doing two hard challenges back-to-back is a bit foolish.

                              😲

  • I really don’t like making bouclé yarn.

                              😹

  • My family is very patient with me.

                              ❤️

  • I am pretty sure I need some rest.

                              🤔

Crafter’s 12 Days of Christmas

Another crafting year is nearing an end, and the 7 days of peaceful rest is upon us. Christmas Day marks the beginning of that period of rest – when all the gifts are finished or relegated to the “maybe by next Christmas” pile. In honor of the crazy rush to finish that we all seem to go through, here is an annoying little tune to hum as the sleep-deprived, caffeinated insanity rules our days.

Saith Me… Boldly Proclaim, Wisely Reevaluate

einstein_1bIt seems human nature to boldly proclaim thoughts and opinions which are often formed from only a mere scattering of information collected.

It seems wisdom is gained from reevaluating one’s ideas after having accumulated greater information which is often derived from someone else’s bold proclamations.

Therefore wisdom is a result of both boldly proclaiming and wisely reevaluating.

Saith Me… Fake News

Sometimes you really wish the fake news was the real news because it makes you laugh rather than makes you want to cry.

Saith Me… Holiday Cookies

I really must learn more self-discipline when making cookies. There is only so much butter/shortening and sugar a person can eat at one time. Four different flavors of cookies; beaters and spatulas need children and hubbies to lick clean.

Saith Me: Waffles, a lesson learned

Substituting apple sauce or pumpkin puree for the required oil in pancakes works well. Making such a substitution in waffles is much more risky. It seems the oil is essential to a crispy, non-stick product.
